Is there a story behind this painting?  You bet there is.  June wanted her son, Craig, along with his horse to do a photo shoot for her in the Spring Pasture, so named because of all the natural springs located there.  There is one creek there that has never gone dry even in the driest of years because of the natural spring in it.  There are also areas in the pasture that have developed low spots, sink holes that will fill up with water.  Craig drove his new truck and trailer to the pasture & got on his horse & June drove just the truck to the spot where the wild flowers were very abundant.  The only problem was that while driving to that spot, June dropped the new truck into one of those sink holes.  Oh, NO!  Craig had to ride his horse out to get the tractor, but he still took time to let his mom have her photo shoot.  She has now done at least 4 paintings from that one event, but she never does one without recalling the events of that day.

This one pose is special to her because growing up a rancher's daughter and living on the ranch working with cattle she always recalls how thankful they are for good rains and green grass for the cattle.
