June's good friend, rancher, and Brazos County Judge, Duane Peters, is the cowboy in this painting. The scene is in the beautiful Sabinal Canyon with the Sabinal River flowing through it in a rugged area of Texas known as Lost Maples, a favorite spot for June's paintings. This is one of many paintings she has done of this beautiful area of Texas, & this one is in the fall of the year. June believes that being able to live your life as a cowboy is living the good life. She knows because that is what her daddy did, and he did live a good life loving every minute he was on a horse. June, her husband, and her family proudly carry on the tradition still today.
While the original is sold, it is still available as a print or giclee which captures all of the beautiful nuances of color June has in the original.
