For the last 4-5 years June has traveled to Moab, Utah, in October going to Red Cliffs Lodge on the banks of the Colorado River for an artists' rendezvous group with Don Weller & other artists.  It is an amazing time discussing art & riding horses to awesome scenic areas in this beautiful red rock country.  One of her favorite places to ride is in Mary Jane Canyon which is the scene for this painting.  Jill Fletcher, on a beautiful white horse, knew her horse was standing in a brilliant beam of sunlight.  Cameras were clicking and horses were standing still.   Painting this brought back so many meaningful memories to June.  She treasures those great times with her art friends, the wranglers, and the people at Red Cliffs Lodge.
At the 2019 Bosque Art Classic June was awarded the Silver Medal for Oils & Acrylics for this painting.  There were over 800 entries with 234 accepted into the show.  She was very humbled and honored to receive this award.
