Dudley_June_A Careful Watch

The mare is a registered paint horse and was on some ranch acreage that my son bought.  The owner could not catch her so Craig just bought her.  Shortly thereafter she had a new foal.  June recalls spending many hours photographing the mare and colt while just driving around them in a mule and taking her time so several different spring days.  This is one of the three paintings she has done of them.  Thankfully, this one sold at Museum of Western Art's "The Party" which was a great, very well attended event.  She felt so fortunate to be able to capture this motherly instinct while photographing these two beauties.  She believes that new babies, animal or human, are God's gift to us, each a miracle and each to be cherished and nurtured.
