Shadow Dance is a landscape painting June did before 2000. She never knew who bought it as it was sold through a gallery, but she recently received a phone call from a gentleman who had walked into an antique store, saw it, & bought it even though it had a damaged place on it. He just made his first art purchase, never having bought art before, but he knew he had to have this painting because it spoke to him. He looked June up on the internet, called her to see if it was her painting, & asked her if she could please repaint the damaged area. She said she believed she could. He shipped the painting to her & she sanded off the damaged area, repainted it, varnished it, and sent it back to him as good as new. Always thankful for new collectors June feels like she has a new friend.
While traveling through the Smoky Mountain National Park, June & Richard, her husband, stopped at many of the beautiful spots & photographed them. Upon stopping at this small river with all of the cascading small rapids June knew she had to paint this one. Painting water is one of June's favorite things to paint. The autumn colors in all the vegetation was also intriguing to her. Then the shadows dancing across the water resulted in the name of the painting. She is thrilled to know this painting is now in the home of a new collector who loves it.
