I took a Hill Country setting in Lost Maples in the fall of the year and put one of my very favorite Utah's Red Cliffs Lodge's cowboys, Devon Dixon, riding through it...I love painting Devon. He is the top wrangler at Red Cliffs and he knows horses and cowboying because this is what he does all day long. He not only looks the part of the cowboy/wrangler, that is what he does. I really enjoyed painting this painting. I love Lost Maples especially in the fall, but it is beautiful year round. I love walking in or beside the Sabinal River as it flows through the Sabinal Canyon. "Peaceful" is what this means to me.
