This was a commissioned piece for June. Her client wanted stormy skies, an old barn with a windmill behind it, some cattle in front of it, and a dad & his son in yellow slickers walking toward the barn. It took some searching to find a yellow slicker that small. She had everything she needed for the photo shoot, but her little boy was a little girl, her granddaughter, Maddie, with her dad & June's son, Craig. She got Maddie all ready & told her that today she was going to be a little boy. Oh, no, she did not like that idea as she started to cry. So June said, "Okay, you don't have to be a little boy. You can just be a little girl. It will be okay." Back to all smiles, they proceeded with the photo shoot, and June got lots of research and recently just finished a painting with Craig & Maddie & their yellow slickers in it titled "The Next Generation". They are also in "Game Plan" and a few others. When June was a little girl she followed her daddy around just like this. Her parents had no sons, just 2 daughters, so the girls were his cowboys, & June loved it.
