River Bottom Buddies

One day while working cattle on our son, Mark's, River Ranch located on the Navasota River in Central Texas, the cowboys were trying to round up all of the cattle including the calves so they could be vaccinated, marked, branded, and separated so the heavy calves could be sold.  The Navasota River was out of its banks meaning there were low places covered with water.  There was one bunch of cows & calves that as yet hadn't been penned.  Two of the cowboys went looking for them.  I knew the direction they were going so I was lucky to be able to hide behind some bushes until they passed by in front of me allowing me to get some excellent photographs of them.  This painting is one that came out of that awesome day.
