Canyon de Chelly

Several years ago while traveling in Arizona, June & another artist friend had a great opportunity to tour Canyon de Chelly with an artist friend who lived nearby and who was very familiar with the canyon.  Unfortunately, the day before the tour was to happen her friend's wife had to have an emergency surgery so he was unable to show June his beloved canyon, but he arranged for his grown son to take over the project.  Riding along in his pickup was fun and exciting getting to go where the usual visitor doesn't get to go, but the real fun began when we got out and rode standing up behind the cab shooting pictures with every turn.  Fortunately for June, water had been let our of the dam above the canyon the day before so there was running water on the canyon floor in places.  Of course, this is one of the ones June selected to paint.
